These grants aim to support emerging needs in our community by funding projects that strengthen community connections, build capacity, and address gaps affecting seniors. This program is ideal for pilot initiatives or innovative solutions that improve the wellbeing and participation of older residents.
Seniors grants support projects that help older people aged 65 and over, or 50 and over for Aboriginal people - and their carers by building capacity and creating opportunities through community development initiatives.
Activity Type
- Programs that raise awareness and education for older people around elder abuse
- Support programs for carers
- Initiatives that encourage volunteering opportunities for older people
- Learning opportunities for older people to explore new and useful technology
- Activities that reduce social isolation
- Initiatives that improve independence and daily living skills for those not receiving My Aged Care support
- Small group activities that encourage connection, such as interest groups, social events, or environmental activities
Priorities
- Build community connections and capacity
- Address social isolation, disadvantage, and/or inclusion
- Provide sustainable and meaningful opportunities for older people who may be at risk
- Encourage positive community attitudes and behaviours towards ageing
- Offer support for carers of older people
Total amount of grant sought must not exceed $4,000.
