Before completing this application form, you should have read the Community Grants Program and Creative Communities Guidelines

Incomplete applications and/or applications received after the closing date will not be considered.

Projects are expected to be delivered from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026. You can choose to start your project at any time but projects should be completed by 30 June 2026.

This section of the application form is designed to help you, and us, understand if you are eligible for this grant. It's crucial that you complete these questions to ensure you do not waste your time applying for an unsuitable grant.

Confirmation of Eligibility

The following confirms that the applicant ...

  • has read and understands the program guidelines 
  • is able to demonstrate alignment between their project and the aims of this program
  • is a not-for-profit organisation. Unincorporated groups need to be auspiced by a not-for-profit organisation.
  • is located in the Fairfield Local Government Area (LGA) or will provide services to residents within Fairfield LGA
  • is able to demonstrate financial viability 
  • does not owe any outstanding grant reports or grant funds to Fairfield City Council
  • has the appropriate type and level of insurance for the activities that are the subject of this grant                                  

* Definition of group for the purpose of grant: two or more persons bound by a common purpose for the benefit of the community. The applicant group may be required to demonstrate previous group activities. Evidence may include but not restricted to previous event promotion, meeting minutes or relevant material.

About the Creative Communities Grant

Fairfield City Council’s Creative Communities Grant Program supports projects that empower communities to voice important issues, while further developing cultural knowledge and artistic skills. 

The grants are specifically for "Community Arts and Cultural Development" Projects that address social issues.

Successful projects are funded up to $6,000.

A Community Arts and Cultural Development Project has to meet ALL of the following criteria:

  1. A community-based arts project that uses any type of art form 
  2. A collaboration between professional community-based artist(s) facilitators and local communities to create art that addresses a social issue
  3. A series of workshops and/or activities that are led by local communities for Fairfield residents

What a Community Arts and Cultural Development Project is NOT:

  1. A one-off cultural event or concert
  2. Creation of new work that is not participant driven and artist facilitated

If you want to run a concert/event, develop a new work or teach arts workshops that do not fit the criteria above please apply to the "Arts and Culture" Grants that opens September 2025.  

The following activity types are considered priority projects:

  • Projects that promote cross-cultural understanding
  • Projects that encourage inter-generational understanding
  • Projects that give creative agency to underrepresented voices
  • Projects that work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities
  • Projects that engage young people in arts and social inclusion
  • Projects that foster creative communities, especially by and with people with disability

Child Safety

The applicant must:

  1. comply with all relevant legislation relating to the employment or engagement of Child-Related Personnel in relation to the services, including all necessary Working With Children Checks however described; and
  2. ensure that Working With Children Checks obtained in accordance with this clause remain current and that all Child-Related Personnel continue to comply with all relevant legislation for the duration of their involvement in the services
